Hi Leute,hatte lange überlegt ob ich mir jetzt auch noch ein Live DVD kaufen muss wenn man die meißten Songs eigentlich schon hat.Aber Live ist ja bekannt das der Sound im längen besser ist wenn die Band auch Live gut ist.Jaja UB 40 ist der Hammer Live,Hut ab.Zu der Kamaraführung kann ich nur sagen das die um weiten nicht so schlecht ist wie einige hier schreiben.Unschärfe ist ab und zu drin und schnelle wechsel aber sonst modernes Konzert von UB 40 auch wenn es von 2003 ist.Bin zufrieden damit und für ca.10€ weniger aus England bestellt,was will man mehr.Klarer Kauftipp wer UB 40 mag

Ist natürlich ein altes überholtes Format, aber wenn es umwandelt mit einem z.B. TMPgen Programm, dann kommen hervorragende Ergebnisse.Wie man sowas nur durch Porto finanzieren kann, ist mir schleierhaft. 5 Sterne

Eine sehr gute Musik DVD, UB40 bringt das Publikum in eine super Stimmung. Mann ist mittendrin die Audioaufnahme ist sehr gut räumlich abgemischt und DD 5.1 gefällt mir hier besser als DTS, DD wirkt dynamischer. Das Bild ist gut und die Kameraführung finde ich genial, die Stimmung wird super eingefangen.

Obwohl ich eher dem Melodic- und Hardrocksektor zuzurechnen bin, bin ich von dieser DVD restlos begeistert.
Was die aus Birmingham ( England ) stammenden Musiker hier auf die Bühne in Rotterdam zaubern verdient das Prädikat Weltklasse. Der Sound ist super, immerhin stehen auch 11 Musiker auf der Bühne, darunter 3 tolle Bläser.
Mit 22 Songs, darunter vor allem am Schluss sämtlichen Hits bleibt kein Wunsch mehr offen.
Und das Beste ist, dass die Show von keinem Interview oder ähnlichem unterbrochen wird. 105 Minuten "White Reggae at its best". Jeder Musik-Fan, der bei dieser DVD die Füsse ruhig halten kann muss eigentlich schon tot sein. Gute Laune ist garantiert, die über 30000 Zuschauer in Rotterdam waren so begeistert wie ich.
Fazit: Unbedingt kaufen-es lohnt sich.

Welch eine Katastrophe ! Ein tolles Konzert wurde mit
hektischen Bildwechsel und Schnitte so bearbeitet dass
man spätestens nach 10 Minuten Augenschmerzen vom zusehen
hat, und lieber nur AUDIO geniesst.

Great compilation of UB40 hits up to this 2003 concert, good performance. I would question some of the editing, with too many short clips - would have preferred the camera to linger on solos for longer - but sound is good and overall a very good DVD.

Who knew UB40 were big enough stars in Holland to play to an arena of 30,000 crazed fans? Filmed on the band's 2003 tour for the Homegrown album, this DVD features 22 songs that cover the pop-reggae act's 20-year career in front of an adoring audience. Like the group, the presentation is polished to the point of being overly commercial, with lots of cuts and slick photography that ultimately detracts from the music. The show is a crowd-pleasing affair, with most of the hits loaded on the front and back ends, leaving the middle for five tunes from the Homegrown release. The surround sound is crisp, the camera work tight if a bit hyperactive, the lights perfect, and the ten-piece band plays with enthusiasm, if not fire. But at over two hours, the approach grows a bit tiresome to watch because of the hyperactivity of the cuts. Some older songs such as the opening "Present Arms" and "One in Ten" are trotted out early, but even they are glossed up compared to the tougher original versions recorded before UB40 found chart success. Interviews with the band along with short, not particularly interesting snippets that describe each song are extras, as well as behind-the-scenes pieces about the road crew and even a chat with a woman who is in charge of the member's wardrobe and dressing room organization. It all looks and sounds like a well-oiled, professional machine, one that has taken reggae to many people who otherwise would never have heard the music. Most fans will be thrilled by the glossy presentation, and since that is who this is aimed for, it's a success on those terms. But others who might have hoped for a tougher, more roots-oriented gig will be disappointed.

The dvd is excellent. Beings UB40 fan I'm very please with it. Lovely tunes from the Homegrown cd w in which I own lol. I play it all the time and show it to my mates who don't know of it. It was fast delivery and packaging was good. I definitely would recommend this dvd to anyone 😘❤

wow, what a complete compilation of this unique and often over looked band! i loved them for years & remember when red red wine put them on the crossover map and everyone assumed these guys were brothers of the African American variety. there is indeed a lot of input from the message this fab.&innovative band of musicians. anyone can hear the soul created in this reggae version of sly and family stoned rasta slash hip hop (although i personally didn't care for the token rap song) this band prooves that skin pigmitation has nothing to do with rasta greatness!!!!!!
