Anyone who appreciates the value of elegance and serenity in beautiful surroundings will enjoy this, especially as we have the delightful Audrey Hepburn as our host and some well chosen classical music to enhance the experience.

There are eight episodes totalling 3 hours 16 minutes, plus 15 minutes of bonus features, including a look behind the scenes, where we see Audrey and the crew discussing the best way to present the programme, and get a glimpse of just how accommodating and impish she was in real life, readily agreeing to do one shot all over again, but this time 'squint-free'. There are also contributions from Michael York.

The series was made in the early Nineties, so the print and sound are not as sharp as today's equivalents, but that did not spoil my enjoyment one bit. Sadly, there are no subtitles for the hard of hearing, but that was probably a matter of costs. I went for the lowest buying option, so it was a great bargain for me.

My order arrived fast and was what l had ordered online.
I like to watch this DVD whilst working out on my cross trainer.....
it takes my mind off the repetitive excercise and off to somewhere else that is beautiful.
The DVD is very informative about the actual plants, planting types and styles of gardening.
Audrey is a very gracious and lovely presenter the whole thing is very enjoyable.

I love gardening and adore Audrey Hepburn. When I came across this I ordered it and really looked forward to watching it, but it was a bit deflating. I'm loathe to be negative about Hepburn but this programme just felt awkward and stilted, the dialogue forced and unnatural and somehow beautiful gardens seemed sterile. I just couldn't enjoy it despite my love of Audrey Hepburn and gardens.

These DVDs are just lovely and show in depth and detail the loveliness of the gardens and the soft and gently speaking voice of Audrey Hepburn is wonderful. I had this DVD a long time ago but misplaced (or lent) it and I loved it so much I needed to have a copy of my own.
