"Bezaubernde Jeannie" nimmt kein Blatt vor den Mund — Columbia Pictures Television

Der Geist ist aus der Flasche. Barbara Eden, die als "Bezaubernde Jeannie" in den 60er Jahren weltberühmt wurde, wird ihre Memoiren veröffentlichen. Ihr Verlag, die Crown Publishing Group, verspricht ein sogenanntes 'Tell All', also eine Autobiografie, in der die 75-jährige Schauspielerin kein Blatt vor den Mund nehmen und sämtliche Details ihrer Hollywood-Karriere offenlegen wird.

Das Buch wird voraussichtlich den Titel "Jeannie out of the Bottle" (dt. etwa 'Jeannie entkommt der Flasche') tragen und soll 2011 veröffentlicht werden. Barbara Eden berichtet darin unter anderem von ihren Beziehungen zu Berühmtheiten wie Elvis Presley, Warren Beatty, Clint Eastwood, Paul Newman, Marilyn Monroe, Lucille Ball und natürlich zu ihrem "Jeannie"-Kollegen Larry Hagman.

"Genau wie Jeannie war ich lange genug eingesperrt", so Eden in einem Statement. "Es wird Zeit den Korken knallen zu lassen und über die wunderbaren Menschen zu sprechen, denen ich auf meinem Weg begegnet bin, sowie über all die Höhen und Tiefen in meinem Leben".

"I Dream of Jeannie" (Originaltitel) lief von 1965 bis 1970 auf auf NBC und brachte es in dieser Zeit auf 139 Episoden. In Deutschland lief "Bezaubernde Jeannie" erstmals im September 1967 im ZDF. Bis heute ist die Serie Kult. 1985 und 1991 entstanden zwei Fernsehfilme, in denen Barbara Eden erneut in die Rolle des 2000 Jahre alten Flaschengeistes schlüpfte.

Ich kann mir gut vorstellen, dass die Autobiographie auch bei uns erscheint, denn an die Serie können sich noch viele erinnern und an Barbare Eden natürlich auch.

Wird das Buch denn auch in deutsch erscheinen? leider sind viele Autobiographien von Stars in Deutschland ja nie erschienen (z.B. Jack Klugman, Robert Wagner, Burt Reynolds, Robert Vaughn,etc.)
Ich würde es mir sehr wünschen, wenn es auch in deutscher Sprache erscheinen würde - ein kauf wäre garantiert :)

Hallo.
Danke für die tolle Nachricht. "Bezaubernde Jeannie" war eigentlich die allererste Serie für mich und die mich eigentlich ein Leben lang begleitete. Die Erstausstrahlung, dann die vielen Wiederholungen und jetzt natürlich auf DVD. Abgesehen davon bereitete Barbara Eden in allen anderen Film-, Show- und TV-Filmen zahlreiche Sternstunden. Daher freue mich umso mehr auf die erste Biografie dieser großartigen Schauspielerin.

Unsere "Bezaubernde Jeannie" veröffentlicht im Frühjahr 2011 ihre Biografie "Jeannie Out of the Bottle". Ich dufte das Projekt bislang unterstützen und habe Barbaras Agenten ein paar unveröffentlichte und seltene Fotos zur Verfügung gestellt...
Anbei der Pressetext, der Verlages..

It was on the Fox lot that Barbara was cast in the TV series, How to Marry a Millionaire, in the role originated in the film by Marilyn Monroe, who was also working at the studio at that time. Barbara was cast in seven feature films, including On the Terrace opposite Paul Newman, and as the romantic lead opposite Elvis Presley in Flaming Star, the only movie in which Elvis didn’t sing or kiss the leading lady. She later moved to Columbia, where she starred in a number of other feature films.
The turning point of Barbara’s career occurred at Columbia, when writer-producer Sidney Sheldon cast his Jeannie in the groundbreaking long-running television comedy classic, I Dream of Jeannie (1965-1970). On the air for 139 episodes, the series has continued its broad popular appeal on cable and in syndication to the present day as one of the all-time comedy television series. The show earned Eden two Golden Globe nominations, and multiple other awards here and abroad.
She continues to make television guest star appearances on such recent shows as Lifetime’s hit, Army Wives, The George Lopez Show, and the HBO movie, Always and Forever. When not appearing in film or television, Barbara frequently returns to live theater, and for the past three years has been starring in Neil Simon’s hit comedy female version of The Odd Couple and the comedic/dramatic two-character play, Love Letters, alternating with co-stars Hal Linden and Larry Hagman.
