The events of This Is England 88 take place two years on, set in and around Christmas, there is a distinct absence of festive spirit as Lol and Woody struggle to come to terms with events from the past. Shaun, meanwhile, learns first-hand the pain that love can bring. This Is England 90 picks up the action in the spring of 1990, with some of the gang embracing the new decade with more gusto than others. Gazza's tears. Hubble's launch. Mandela's release.
