17 Sep 2003, Golden Triangle, South East Asia --- On the Mekong River, fresh fruits from Thailand are exported to China through cross border trade near the central city area known as the "Golden Triangle." Notorious for its history of drug trade focused on opium and heroin, the "Golden Triangle" is a remote outpost on the Mekong River bordering Thailand, Myanmar and Laos. An active government with the backing of the United Nations has made the move towards the eradication of poppy cultivation and has led to a silence in drug trafficking.
