Kommunikation

(The Writing On The Wall)
Alternativtitel: Das Wunder der Sprache,Die Macht des Wissens
Folgeninhalt

  • Tyndale was sentenced to the punishment for what they called an obstinate heretic. The punishments for heresy in the early modern world seemed utterly cruel and barbaric and what the Church wanted to do was to threaten people with ruthless bitter punishments and have them then say I was wrong, I’m sorry. I should have been a good Catholic and he refused to do that. Poor William Tyndale paid for his convictions with his life. But the ideas that he unleashed had a whirlwind effect on the development of the Protestant reformation. (photo credit: National Geographic)
