REENACTMENT - NTSB Investigators (played by background performers) set up a grid to chart the location of key pieces of wreckage at the site of world famous golfer Payne Stewart's fatal plane crash.

On May 11, 1996, ValuJet Airlines Flight 592 crashes into the Florida Everglades, 27 kilometers (17 miles) northwest of Miami International Airport. The DC-9 was carrying 110 passengers and crew for Atlanta, Georgia. Shortly after lifting off a fierce fire erupted on board, crippling the plane. The crew attempted to return to Miami, but crashed into a remote part of the Florida Everglades. When rescuers arrive on the scene they find almost no aircraft debris, but do find some personal effects floating in the remote swamp.

Reenactment: A New Orleans Air Traffic Controller (played by Craig Lauzon) helps guide TACA Flight 110 to a safe landing after the pilots report that both of the engines on their 737 have flamed out during a violent thunderstrom. The controller offers alternative airports, and points out a highway right ahead of the crippled jetliner. In the end the pilots chose to put the plane down on one of New Orlean's levees. They are hailed as heroes for executing the emergency landing without seriously injuring any of the 38 passengers or 7 crew-members on board the flight.
