Al follows the motto ?go big or go home,? so this year he?s back with a larger crew and bigger machines. But all that comes with a higher price tag, so the pressure is on to sluice around the clock. Big Al is the master of his own domain for better and for worse. He means to get what he came for ? gold and lots of it. ??(photo credit: Paperny Entertainment)
Miner and Alberta farm boy, Cam Johnson, loves the thrill of chasing gold. Cam mines on the remote 10 Mile Creek, several hours upriver from Dawson City and only accessible by boat or plane?a huge obstacle when a part breaks or groceries run low. Cam runs two operations on his mine. A dry plant with partner Kevin is Cam?s biggest hope for pulling in a lot of gold. And after two seasons battling machines and poor returns, Cam can?t afford to go home broke again. Cam?s second operation is a wet plant shared with brother-in-law and business partner Dennis. It?s a lean crew searching for fine gold. Running two operations at once means double the problems, and Cam is fighting to keep the mine alive. Family is Cam?s top priority, and he keeps his close. His wife and children help out at the mine in any way possible, from operating machines to gold cleaning to cooking dinner. Mining life is hard, but this family loves it. When the going gets tough, they rely on each other to see it through.??(photo credit: Paperny Entertainment)

Chris and Nika are hand to mouth miners - they don?t have deep pockets or a back up plan - mining is it - they gotta make it work or they go broke. What keeps this working class family up at night? Do they have enough to pay their bills and feed their babies? Is the gamble worth the cost to their relationship with one another? Will the handwork pay off? Both Nika and Chris believe that hard work is what?ll get them through and that if they just put in the time they?ll have what they need to support their family and then some but it?s this belief should be tested all season long as they run into obstacles and overcome them.??(photo credit: Paperny Entertainment)
