  • Alcatraz, or as it’s more famously know, “The Rock” was opened by J Edgar Hoover as the final destination for his Public Enemy Number 1’s. Due to the high security, and the island’s location in the cold waters and strong currents of San Francisco Bay, it was supposed to be escape proof and America’s strongest prison. However, three inmates who were sent there, believed otherwise.
