Die unscheinbare Hausfrau Della Myers wird am Weihnachtsabend Zeugin eines kaltblütigen Mordes, verübt von einer gewalttätigen Jugendbande. Um ihrem eigenen Tod zu entgehen, flüchtet sie in einen abgelegenen Wald. Gejagt von den skrupellosen Killern, hat sie keine andere Wahl, als den Kampf um Leben und Tod aufzunehmen. Ein packender Survival-Thriller, in dem Hollywoodstar Kim Basinger um ihr Überleben kämpft. In düsteren Bildern eingefangen, bietet "Stille Nacht, mörderische Nacht" atemlose Spannung in beklemmender Atmosphäre. Della Myers (Kim Basinger) ist eine unscheinbare Hausfrau in einer amerikanischen Kleinstadt.

Sie widmet ihr Leben ganz ihren beiden Kindern und wird von ihrem herrischen Ehemann Kenneth (Craig Sheffer) unterdrückt und ausgenutzt. Als sie am Weihnachtsabend noch Besorgungen im Supermarkt erledigen will und eine Bande Jugendlicher ermahnt, die mit ihrem Wagen zwei Parkplätze auf einmal belegen, ahnt sie nicht, welch schreckliche Folgen dies nach sich zieht. Die skrupellosen jungen Männer, angeführt vom kaltblütigen Chuckie (Lukas Haas), greifen Della an und erschießen kurzerhand einen Wachmann, der ihr zu Hilfe geeilt ist. Als Zeugin des Mordes soll nun auch Della sterben, die jedoch mit ihrem Wagen fliehen kann. Die Gang nimmt sofort die Verfolgung auf und jagt Della in ein abgelegenes Waldstück. Della kommt von der glatten Fahrbahn ab.

Zwar kann sie unverletzt in den Wald entkommen, hat nun aber keine andere Wahl, als sich den Killern in einem Kampf auf Leben und Tod zu stellen. Gleich mit ihrem Spielfilmdebüt liefert Regisseurin Susan Montford einen fesselnden Thriller, der die Zuschauer keine Sekunde verschnaufen lässt. In düsterer Optik lässt sie Della bis zum packenden Finale verzweifelt um ihr Überleben kämpfen und wirft so die Frage auf, wie weit ein Mensch im Kampf um Leben und Tod zu gehen bereit ist. Montford konnte sich bisher als Produzentin in verschiedenen Genres einen Namen machen, zeichnete sie doch für Actionhits wie "Shoot'em up" (2007) und "Real Steel" (2011) ebenso verantwortlich, wie für den Science-Fiction-Thriller "Splice - Das Genexperiment" (2009). Ihre neueste Produktion ist ein Kino-Remake der beliebten Kinderserie "Sabrina the Teenage Witch", die sich derzeit noch in Vorbereitung befindet. Zu "Stille Nacht , mörderische Nacht" verfasste sie auch das Drehbuch, basierend auf einer Kurzgeschichte des amerikanischen Kult-Horrorautors Edward Bryant.

Hollywoodstar Kim Basinger stellt einmal mehr ihr vielfältiges Talent unter Beweis und überzeugt in der Rolle der frustrierten Hausfrau, die durch grausame Umstände zur Kämpferin wird. Sendelänge 73 Minuten...
