Der junge Mulitmillionär und Industrieller Bruce Wayne sorgt des Nachts als maskierter Superheld Batman für Ordnung und Sicherheit in den Straßen von Gotham City. Nachdem er als Kind den brutalen Mord an seinen Eltern miterleben musste, versucht er die schlimmsten und bösartigsten Verbrecher der Stadt dingfest zu machen. Als eine mysteriöse Mordserie Gotham City heimsucht, nimmt Bruce Wayne auf eigener Faust die Ermittlungen auf und deckt eine Verbindung zum Mord an seinen Eltern auf.
Unterstüzt wird The Dark Knight von seinem treuen Butler Alfred Pennyworth (Andy Serkis) und Detective James Gordon (Jeffrey Wright). Zu seinen Gegnern gehört der Mafiagangster Carmine Falcone (John Turturro), sowie die aus den Comics bekannten Oswald Cobblepot aka The Penguin (Colin Farrell), Edward Nashton aka The Riddler (Paul Dano) sowie Selina Kyle aka Catwoman (Zoë Kravitz).

Der schlechteste Film, den ich in den letzten Jahren gesehen hab. Ich bin eigentlich ein großer Batman Fan, aber dieser ist das Letzte. Robert Pattinson überzeugt mich überhaupt nicht, der passt überhaupt nicht in diese Rolle und dann diese Dialoge, oh Mann. Kein Biss, keine Action, keine Spannung, dann kann man auch gleich sich ein Tatort in der ARD anschauen, der ist bestimmt besser

Habe selten so gut geschlafen, wie bei diesem Film. Kann sich mit "Der Polarexpress" in eine Reihe stellen.
