Kurz nachdem ein berühmter Fernsehkoch in seinem Restaurant ermordet wurde, gesteht ein Verdächtiger die Tat. Doch Danny und Baez sind überzeugt, dass damit nur der wahre Täter gedeckt werden soll. Frank steckt derweil in der Zwickmühle: Ein alter Freund, Senator Ted McCreary, hat ihn gebeten, seinen Einfluss geltend zu machen, damit eine Anklage wegen Fahrens unter Alkoholeinfluss fallengelassen wird. Darüber hinaus taucht erneut die Reporterin Anne Farrell auf.
