In dieser Episode machen sich "Trapper", "Huckleberry" und Fährtenleser "Wild Bill" auf den Weg nach Preston County in West Virginia, um Beweise für die Existenz des "Snallygasters" zu finden. Ein fliegendes Reptil mit sechs Metern Flügelspannweite und 15 Zentimeter langen Krallen: Die mysteriöse Kreatur wurde zum ersten Mal Mitte des 17. Jahrhunderts von deutschen Einwanderern gesichtet, und ein Fallensteller schwört, er hätte die gruselige Bestie kürzlich mit eigenen Augen auf einem Forstweg gesehen. Die Monster-Jäger gehen der Sache auf den Grund.
