Abenteuer, Action, Komödie
Die erfolgreichen romantischen Abenteuer-Romane, die Loretta Sage schreibt, könnten ihrer eigenen Lebensrealität kaum ferner sein: Die Schriftstellerin lebt am liebsten zurückgezogen von der Welt und träumt lieber auf den Seiten von exotischen Orten statt diese wie ihre Figuren selbst zu besuchen. Alan wiederum ist das Model, das Lorettas Romanheld Dash ein Gesicht gibt. Denn schon seit mehreren Bänden verkörpert er die Hauptfigur auf dem Buchcover - und das mit Leib und Seele, obwohl er selbst all die aussergewöhnlichen Fähigkeiten des Abenteurers nicht wirklich besitzt. Erst als Loretta ihr Heim für ihre neue Buch-Tour doch einmal verlassen muss, geschieht das Unvorhergesehene: Die Autorin wird vom exzentrischen Milliardär Fairfax entführt. Der hofft nach ihrem letzten Roman, dass die Schriftstellerin ihn zu einem verlorenen Schatz im Dschungel führen kann. Alan sieht dadurch seine Chance gekommen, zu beweisen, dass er auch im echten Leben ein Held sein kann und stürzt sich in den Versuch, Loretta zu retten.
Doch der Überlebenskampf im Urwald fordert dem ungleichen Paar bald alles ab, erst recht als klar wird, dass die verlorene Stadt tatsächlich real sein könnte.
