Jim ist fest davon überzeugt, dass die Blues-Kassette, die er bei einem ihrer ersten Dates von Cheryl bekommen hat, der Grund war, warum er sich in sie verliebt hat. Doch eigentlich war dieses Band gar nicht für ihn gedacht, es war vielmehr ein Geschenk von Cheryls Ex-Freund und Jim hat irrtümlich geglaubt, es wäre für ihn. Als nun eine Überspielung von Kassette auf CD ein Liebesgeständnis von eben diesem Ex-Freund zu Tage bringt, ist Jim tief verletzt....
