Eine Starbesetzung unter der Sonne Spaniens: Bruce Willis, Sigourney Weaver und der neue "Superman"-Darsteller Henry Cavill spielen die Hauptrollen in dem wendungsreichen Actionthriller "The Cold Light of Day", den das ZDF-"Montagskino" als Free-TV-Premiere zeigt. Der Wirtschaftsberater Will staunt nicht schlecht, als seine Familie während eines Segeltörns vor der spanischen Küste spurlos von der Ferienyacht verschwindet. Zurück bleiben nur Blutspuren. Auf sich allein gestellt, versucht er die Verschwundenen zu finden und muss dabei sehr bald feststellen, dass nicht nur die lokale Polizei anscheinend mit den Kidnappern gemeinsame Sache macht. Sehr unwillig fliegt der vielbeschäftigte Wirtschaftsberater Will Shaw (Henry Cavill) nach Spanien, um gemeinsam mit seiner Familie einen Segeltörn zu unternehmen. Weil er öfters am Handy hängt, als mit seinen Eltern zu sprechen, kommt es schon bald zu Unstimmigkeiten mit Vater Martin (Bruce Willis). Als er dann auch noch einen Unfall verursacht, bei dem die Freundin (Emma Hamilton) seines Bruders (Rafi Gavron) verletzt wird, verlässt er die Yacht, um rasch Hilfe zu holen. Als er zurückkehrt, ist seine Familie verschwunden, und Blutspuren weisen auf einen Kampf hin. Für Will beginnt eine atemlose Jagd nach den Entführern. Und er muss schon bald lernen, dass sein Vater nicht der ist, für den er ihn immer hielt. In "Man Of Steel" überzeugte der britische Schauspieler Henry Cavill im letzten Kinojahr als Superheld wider Willen und spielte die Altstars Kevin Costner und Russell Crowe im hautengen Superman-Dress glatt an die Wand. Der attraktive Schauspieler mit den brünetten Haaren und den leuchtend blauen Augen konnte zuvor schon in dem Fantasy-Abenteuer "Krieg der Götter" als griechischer Recke Theseus überzeugen.
In der düsteren Märchenverfilmung "Red Riding Hood" war er an der Seite von "Rotkäppchen" Amanda Seyfried zu sehen, und in der britischen Erfolgsserie "Die Tudors" mischte der attraktive Schauspieler von den britischen Kanalinseln als Charles Brandon munter mit. Abgedreht hat er unter der Regie von Guy Ritchie ("Sherlock Holmes") gerade die Agentenkomödie "The Man from U.N.C.L.E", die nächstes Jahr in die deutschen Kinos kommen wird. Und in Planung ist außerdem unter der Regie von Zack Snider ein neues Superman-Abenteuer, in dem Cavill gemeinsam mit Fledermaus-Recke Batman gegen die Bösen der Welt kämpfen wird. Während Action-Ikone Bruce Willis im Spätsommer mit dem Comic-Franchise "Sin City 2" in die Kinos kommen wird, müssen die Fans auf Sigourney Weavers nächsten Kinoauftritt noch etwas warten. Im Dezember startet ihr neuester Film "Exodus" in den USA. Regie führt bei diesem opulenten Bibel-Spektakel Erfolgsregisseur Ridley Scott.
In die Rolle des Moses schlüpft Oscar-Gewinner Christian Bale.

Eigentlich will der junge Wall-Street-Broker Will Shaw (Henry Cavill) den Segeltörn entlang der spanischen Küste nutzen, um sich von seinem stressigen Alltag zu erholen. Als jedoch seine Familie entführt wird, ist es mit der Urlaubsstimmung schnell vorbei. Skurril wird es, als er unerwartet auf seinen Vater Martin (Bruce Willis) trifft, der seit Jahren im Geheimen für die CIA arbeitet. Gemeinsam mit Will nimmt er die Verfolgung auf, unterstützt von Agenten-Kollegin Jean Carrack (Sigourney Weaver) - doch auch sie scheint ein falsches Spiel zu spielen. Actionreicher Agententhriller von Regisseur Mabrouk El Mechri. Gedreht wurde ausschließlich in Spanien.
