Was wäre James Bond ohne seine Frauen? Sie haben Namen wie Pussy Galore, Honey Ryder oder Holly Goodhead, sehen umwerfend aus und sind meist ebenso verführerisch wie gefährlich. Natürlich kann keine von ihnen dem Charme von 007 widerstehen - zugleich aber gehören ihnen einige der unvergesslichsten Szenen der Bond-Geschichte. Anlässlich der Dreharbeiten zu dem Film "Stirb an einem anderen Tag" im Jahr 2002 begab sich das Ex-Bond-Girl Maryam d'Abo - Kara Milovy in "Der Hauch des Todes" von 1987 - auf eine Spurensuche und interviewte fast alle Bond-Darstellerinnen, um die faszinierende Entwicklung nachzuzeichnen, welche die Bond-Girls im Lauf der Jahrzehnte durchgemacht haben. Denn obwohl sie mit ihren zweideutigen Rollennamen auf den ersten Blick wie austauschbare Gespielinnen des Superagenten wirken, standen die meisten von ihnen bei näherer Betrachtung für einen neuen, starken Frauentyp. Das beginnt mit der sportlich-durchtrainierten Ursula Andress, die in "James Bond 007 jagt Dr. No" von 1962 einen kraftvollen Gegenpol zum damaligen Hollywood-Frauenbild verkörperte, das noch immer von der leicht naiv wirkenden Marylin Monroe sowie dem patenten Hausmütterchen Doris Day geprägt war.

Im Lauf der Jahre wurde dieses starke Frauenbild immer weiter ausgebaut, man denke nur an die hochintelligente Bond-Gegenspielerin "Octopussy" - Maud Adams - oder an Halle Berry, die dem Topagenten als mörderische Jinx in "Stirb an einem anderen Tag" immer wieder die Schau zu stehlen droht. In einem Punkt jedenfalls sind sich alle Befragten Darstellerinnen einig: "Bond Girls Are Forever"! "Bond Girls Are Forever" ist eine ebenso amüsante wie informative Dokumentation über die abwechslungsreiche Geschichte der legendären Frauenfiguren an der Seite des Topagenten. Fast alle ehemaligen Bond-Girls, von Ursula Andress - Honey Ryder in "James Bond 007 jagt Dr. No" - über Honor Blackman - Pussy Galore in "Goldfinger" - bis zu der "Oscar"-Preisträgerin Halle Berry kommen zu Wort und erzählen Anekdoten aus ihrer ganz persönlichen "Bond-Geschichte". Außerdem wartet die Dokumentation natürlich mit zahlreichen Filmausschnitten aus vierzig Jahren 007 auf.
