Das junge Paar Dani und Sebastian lebt dort, wo andere Urlaub machen: An den paradiesischen Stränden von Hawaii betreiben sie einen kleinen Taucherladen. Mit ihren Nachbarn, ebenfalls einem jungen Paar, genießen sie den Sommer in vollen Zügen. Dani und Sebastian verfolgen hier auf der Insel ihren persönlichen Traum: Seit vielen Jahren suchen sie nach dem gesunkenen Schiff San Cristobal, welches mit Gold und Diamanten beladen war. Die Suche blieb bislang allerdings erfolglos. Das wohlhabende Paar Azra und Carlton lebt in einer Villa mit einem unverbauten Blick auf den Pazifik. Auch sie sind an der San Cristobal interessiert und besuchen den Taucherladen von Dani und Sebastian, um sich dort mit dem nötigen Equipment auszustatten.
Acht Augen sehen bekanntlich mehr als vier und so beschließen sie, die abenteuerliche Suche nach dem gesunkenen Schiff gemeinsam fortzusetzen. Und nicht nur das: Auch privat verbringen die Paare ausgelassene Abende auf der luxuriösen Terrasse von Azra und Carlton. Aber Dani ist misstrauisch. Sie traut den neu gewonnenen Freunden nicht über den Weg. Bald wird beiden klar, dass es für Carlton und Azra nicht um eine gewöhnliche Schatzsuche geht - in Wahrheit suchen sie Container mit Nuklearsprengstoff, die im Wasser liegen. Sebastian und Dani geraten in Lebensgefahr und es beginnt ein Kampf um Leben und Tod in den Tiefen des Ozeans.

Spannender Thriller vor traumhaft exotischer Kulisse. Regie führte der Amerikaner Stephen Herek, der in den 80er- und 90er-Jahren Kinohits wie "Critters", "Bill und Teds verrückte Reise durch die Zeit", "Mighty Ducks", "101 Dalmatiner", "Die drei Musketiere" oder "Mr. Hollands Opus" inszenierte. Hauptdarstellerin Laura Vandervoort kennt man vor allem aus der Sci-Fi-Serie "V- Die Besucher". In der langlebigen TV-Serie "Smallville" spielte sie von 2007-2011 die Rolle der Kara. David Anders wurde u.a. mit der Thriller-Serie "Alias - Die Agentin" bekannt. In den kommenden Jahren spielte er tragende Rollen in Serienhits wie "24", "Heroes", "Vampire Diaries" oder "Once Upon A Time".
