Als Cassie (Kathryn Newton), Tochter von Scott Lang aka Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), ein Gerät entwickelt, mit dem eine Kommunikation mit der Quantenebene möglich sein soll, endet das Experiment in einer Katastrophe: Cassie, Scott und seine Mitstreiterin Hope Van Dyne aka The Wasp (Evangeline Lilly) finden sich unfreiwillig in dem mystischen Quantenreich wieder. Gemeinsam mit Hopes Eltern Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) und Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) arbeitet das Trio an einem Weg zurück, während sie die mysteriöse neue Welt des Quantenreichs mit fremden Kreaturen und versteckten Zivilisationen erkunden. Dabei ist auf den mysteriösen Kang (Jonathan Majors), der die Fähigkeit besitzt, durch Zeit und Multiversum zu reisen treffen.

Ich habe dem Film noch wohlwollende 3 Sterne gegeben.
Die Schauspieler waren sympathisch und die Special-Effekts waren ja durchaus schön anzuschauen. Die Geschichte selbst, war wie bei allen Superhelden-Filmen sehr oberflächlich bis kaum vorhanden.
Leider zeichnet sich bei Marvel ein immer stärker werdender Trend ab und zwar, dass man die neuen Kinofilme nicht mehr wirklich folgen kann, wenn man die Streaming-Serien nicht gesehen hat. Und da ich kein Streaming nutze, fehlen mir einfach entscheidende Teile der Vorgeschichte. Meiner Meinung nach hätte sich Marvel weiterhin ausschließlich auf Kinofilme fokussieren sollen. Schade.
